I decided to go green for a few days to cover some must-eat vegetarian places in Vancouver and my first stop was Cafe Deux Soleils at Commercial because honestly who could possibly miss out on them with their colourful building. Not surprising that the interior was a very chill and hipster looking place with lots of wood used in their décor. Don’t forget to throw your own dishes away here at the far back of the restaurant!
My friend ordered the “Special” (CAD8.80) in which I thought was nothing special about. With the usual eggs omelette with basil, tomatoes, garlic, feta, melted cheddar, toast and potatoes…sounds pretty mediocre in my opinion. The omelette was heavy with the excessive cheese, but the tomatoes were fresh and juicy that saved the heavy cheese aroma.
Omelette with zucchini!? There was no way I couldn’t order the Jemelette (CAD9.35) since zucchini is a vegetable I could eat three times a day. The omelette packages feta, garlic, zucchini, onions, tomatoes, peppers, and spinach with a side of hash brown, toast and honestly, the toast and potatoes were too filling, so I had to throw them out. The omelette on the other hand was hearty and I could taste each ingredient in there so it wasn’t all a mashed up messed inside the egg.
